| Monkeys and Me

God made Monkeys; God made me… God made monkeys; God made me. So what’s about monkeys, that’s just like me? Monkeys have two hands, I have, too! Mirror, mirror, look at me… I have two eyes; monkeys have two – too! Monkeys and me, we have two ears… Monkey face, funny face, I can make a smiley face. We open our mouths. What do we see? I can be neat and comb my hair. I can talk to God, but monkeys never do. God made the monkeys. Then He made me. In His image God made me. Not like monkeys, funny, cute, or wild. |
Darrell wrote and illustrated Monkeys & Me as a child's first book on how God created man separate from animals. The text was written and designed to be published as a "mirror board book" (unpublished). If you have a mirror handy to interact with the child when you read these verses, they can look in the mirror and see how God made them special—not like a monkey—but as a special creation in God's likeness. |
