| We did not have the slightest intention of buying a piece of pottery as we waited for the glass bottom boat to arrive and take us to Lands End, but this artist was just impossible to resist. He comes from a family of artists and he had the most beautiful handmade pieces. We chose one that, as he explained, was the life story of his father and their family. In the center of the plate was a bride and groom, and the plate spun a tale of family. I particularly had to buy a plate because I wanted to take his photo, and he said, "No plate, no photo." | We bought a large basket almost immediately after buying a large, breakable, hand-painted plate. After all, we were in the middle of the beach, miles from our resort, with a prize plate to carry around for the remainder of the day and until we returned to our room, which we were in no hurry to do.

Darrell expended so much time painting this flower pot for his mother that he earned the nickname "Picasso." He asked Ariana to add the traditional pin stripes in the painting style she is so good at. Then Ariana glazed and fired the pottery. What could be more fun then sitting in the shade, painting pottery, with the sound of crashing waves in the background. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
