Seashores at Cabo San Lucas

Lover's Beach at Land's End
The captain asked, "Do you want to go ashore?" When you take a glass-bottom boat excursion to Lover's Beach at Land's End, you decide for or against adventure. Do we want to go ashore?" Mmmmhhh, we weren't sure. All we saw was a bunch of sand and people. Besides, in order to get to shore, you had to leap out of the boat as it bobbed in the water, 10 feet from dry land.
What the heck we thought and leaped. We could not have fathomed the thrill we would experience when we got to the other side of the peninsula and saw the Pacific Ocean pounding the seashore. They call the Pacific side of Lover's Beach, "Divorce Beach," with the legend that if your husband ever sees it, you will lose him to the ocean. It is just that magnificent. Pack a lunch and make it a day at the beach.

Lover's Beach at Land's End
Cabo San Lucas is located at Land's End on the inland bay of the California peninsula. On the west side of the peninsula is the Pacific Ocean and on the east side is the Sea of Cortez, which is where we landed on our first trip to Cabo San Lucas. My first experience at our resort was being washed over by a huge, unexpected wave as we strolled down the beach, still in our travel clothes. It was days later that a light bulb came on in Darrell's mind when he realized that the seaside view from our resort was of the glorious Sea of Cortez. In Darrell's many years of study as a wildlife illustrator, he had always envisioned the Sea of Cortez near Spain. Our trip took on even more importance as he envisioned all of the possibilities for discovery and adventure that lay ahead on the Sea of Cortez.

Darrell and his binoculars EVERY room at the Fiesta Americana faces the Sea of Cortez. From our balcony we saw the sun rise in the morning and the moon rise at night. We watched cruise ships arrive at the harbor, sailboats, excursion boats, yachts, and fisherman, all from our balcony.
