We met a young couple at dinner who ended up in Cabo by chance after over-night storms had devastated their scheduled vacation spot in the Bahama's. Since they had their bags packed, they were going SOMEPLACE, regardless, and thanks to the Internet, they found Cabo San Lucas. They were easy to talk to and were ready to take on Cabo, which means fishing for marlin. Neither of us wanted to spend $500 or more to charter a boat, but one of the enterprising attendants at the resort knew someone, and pretty soon we were hooked up for fishing. The hotel fixed boxed lunches for us, and we arrived at the harbor by 6:30 a.m., ready to hunt marlin. We were a little naive on what it took to land a marlin, and we were out in a rather small boat. All that aside, we saw a marlin and caught three Dorado. |
